Ways for Users to Access the Portal
The following lists the four ways users can access the PeakCommerce self-service portal for Account and Subscription management.
1. Sign Up on Portal Log In/ Sign Up page
When a new user navigates to the domain of the portal without Single Sign On, they must first sign up for a PeakCommerce account. This portal log in/sign up page is hosted by the primary IdP. PeakCommerce's primary IdP is Auth0 if another IdP is not integrated. See a sample sign up page below.
Some customers opt to allow their customers or partners who have an existing Zuora Account to sign up for a PeakCommerce portal account at the portal signup page. An Email, Zuora Account Number, Password, and sometimes First and Last Name are required.
Note: This is different than signing up in e-commerce.
There is a new feature in the PeakCommerce platform to validate account numbers at this signup page. If an incorrect Zuora account number is entered, an error will report to the end-user that their information could not be validated. If a space is added before or after the account number, the account number will be corrected to remove spaces when it is submitted. If a lowercase 'a' is used at the beginning of the account number, it will still be validated. This means that new signups will either successfully create an account in Auth0 AND PeakCommerce, or an error will be thrown so the customer can try again.
2. Log in on the Portal Log in/Sign Up page
When an existing user navigates to the domain of the portal without Single Sign On, they must log in to access their account. This portal log in/sign up page is hosted by the primary IdP. PeakCommerce's primary IdP is Auth0 if another IdP is not integrated.
This uses the same page as the previous item, however this is for existing users after they have already signed up for an account either on the signup page or via e-commerce. Sample log in page below.
Note: This is different than logging into e-commerce.
3. Single Sign On
If SSO is setup, users can be within a comany's website or product, then click a button or link to take them directly into the PeakCommerce self-service portal. Because of SSO, the user will already be logged in when the portal is pulled up. No log in page wil be displayed.
4. Salesforce Integration
Sales Reps or CSRs who live in Salesforce can use a custom link or button on Customer Accounts and Billing Account Details in Salesforce to launch them into their own Account Executive experience in the portal where they can customers for Peak and Zuora accounts,
or edit existing customer accounts/subscriptions (depending on their permissions).
This uses SSO so the Sales Rep/CSR will automatically be logged into their account in PeakCommerce without using a login page.
